No in November. Want Less. Consume Less.

by Mark Soraya Alex Heffernan | gift type: Corporate, Other

Dear Bill and Team,
Thank you for writing this book.

The earth is warming; definitely. Human activity is to blame; possibly, or almost definitely, depending on who you listen to.

Global Warming
Kyoto
Carbon Footprint
Sustainable Living
Resource Consumption

It’s what many are talking about. What else can we do as individuals?

We have launched a website to promote a month-long project, No in November. The project aims to encourage people to want less and consume less. Why? To avoid wasting resources in the manufacture of a supply of goods that we don’t really need, and to reduce the pollution that results from consuming these goods.

For just one month of the year choose not to buy anything new and, in so doing, fill your own wallet and help heal our planet.

Food, drink, medicine and hygiene products are suggested to be excluded.

Say No in November.

About the people behind the website
We are a husband and wife and our 20 month old son. We are mindful of the fact that capitalism in general, and democracy and the free market in particular, has given us everything we have.

We regularly navigate the minefield of moral hypocrisy by flying up to a dozen times per year and buying and accepting plastic toys for our son to play with. Buying trees helps to address some of this hypocrisy. No in November may help us further.

We would love you to join us this November.
