Let Art Talk

In 1998, my wife and I were invited to Uganda by a man that had started a grassroots organization to help the orphans and rural peasants devastated by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Rakai, Uganda. The month long experience radically changed our lives.

Since visiting Uganda in 1998, we have returned to Uganda several times on our own time and with our own money. We do not represent any business, government, charity, or church. Our network of friends has grown to include artists, actors, musicians, pastors, businessmen, farmers, politicians, and villagers.

One our best friends in Uganda is internationally known Ugandan artist Fred Kato Mutebi. He uses his artistic talent to be a global social commentator. Fred is passionate about using art to change the future of Uganda. One of the ways that he is implementing his vision is by launching "Let Art Talk". The mission of this unique and creative organization based in Uganda is to use art as a means to address diverse social, civic, economic, and environmental issues to encourage empowerment, independence, and reconciliation in communities.

Our role in Uganda is not to bring "aid", "relief", or "emotional pity" to the people. We would rather partner with our Ugandan friends to encourage and contribute towards the wonderful work that they are doing.
